Opening
Offor was born on 27 May 2000 in Jos, a city on the plateau in central Nigeria. According to the English Wikipedia, his family left Jos because of communal unrest, and Chinonso grew up in Ekwulobia in the south-east, Igbo country. Jos itself lived through several waves of severe violence: one Human Rights Watch report on the city was titled "A City Torn Apart". From then on Offor would keep moving on his own, almost always into the unknown.
A detail he would later share with Kaliningrad journalists: the coldest match of his career was played in his native Jos. "It felt like what I recently experienced in Moscow."
